Youth

The Youth of the community are and have always been active in the various Jewish youth groups such as AJ6, Hanoar Hatzioni and many others, typically from  about 8 years and upwards.

Our youth have also always taken a leading role in these groups frequently acting as committee members and youth leaders on camps and other organized activities.

Students

Reading is home to an excellent university, and one that quite a few Jewish students attend. The university has a very active Jewish Society and we, as a community, have very close relationships  with their members.

We welcome them to our services and, it is not unheard of for a good many of them to turn up of a Shabbat morning or to a festival service.

We also often invite them into our homes for a Friday night Shabbat meal or at many other times, sometimes on the 'spur of the moment' and in addition we try to provide some assistance and support for the activities that they, themselves, organize within the university.
