Education

We in Reading take educating seriously, both in terms of education our children and adults both within the community and on a wider scale to the whole of Berkshire.

Within the community we seek to educate our children from the Kindergarten stage all the way up to Bar Mitzvah and Bat Chayil standard and beyond up to GCSE standard. We have a flexible Cheder to suit the needs and requirements of our children.

Over the years the Cheder has received good reports from the United Synagogue's Inspector of Chederarim, thanks to the combination of dedicated adult teachers, ably assisted by former students.

Adults, however, are not forgotten and the Rabbi along with various members of the community take it upon themselves to provide on-going programme of adult education covering for example:
   -  The Rabbi's weekly Shiur
   -  Regular Limmud sessions dealing with various learning and philosophical 
      topics -  Current Theme: Analysis and discussion of the works and ideas of
                                           leading Jewish Thinkers  
   -  Taking classes in A-level Religious Education and achieving an excellent 
      pass rate

Everybody is encouraged to take an active part!
